I talk to customers a lot and always make a point of asking them what their favorite searches are. Hands down, the most popular answers are the Person Searches and Comprehensive Reports. Why? It’s where they get a head start on their investigations. The comp reports, specifically, are the strong leaders. It gives them a 360-degree view of their target, helps them connect the dots and lets them uncover info their client may not have even known.

These reports are extensive – I’ve seen some get up to 300 pages (let’s pull out the popcorn for those!) – but there are ways to make sure you get complete, accurate data in a way that is easily digestible (no pun intended…).

Firstly, be sure you are putting in the best information to get the best results. What is it people say? “Garbage in, garbage out.” Let’s avoid that. You’ll get the best result by using just your subject’s social security number. However, if you don’t have SSN, run a Person Search first to identify your suspect and ensure you get the correct Comprehensive Report.

Next is looking at the most important info first. While the comp report will return advanced information like criminal records and aircraft registrations, your subject may not have those things. So instead of going through hundreds of pages, take a look at the results BEFORE you export the data. The results are displayed in boxes you can move around your dashboard. If the most important info you need on Jim Smith is contact info, weapon permits, and relatives, just drag and drop those result boxes up to the top so you don’t have to scroll all over the place for the info. You can also take out boxes all together so you don’t even have to be bothered by unneeded info.

Added Bonus:

Each Comp Report export starts with a Summary Page that includes all the pertinent information from that report. You’ll spend less time searching and more time connecting with your subject.

The comprehensive reports are just that – very, very comprehensive – but here is a quick list of just a few of the results you’ll get:

  • Addresses
  • Vehicles
  • Properties
  • Watercrafts, Aircrafts
  • Phones
  • Criminal Records
  • Bankruptcies, Liens and Judgments
  • Professional Licenses
  • Driver's Licenses
  • Hunting and Fishing Licenses
  • Concealed Weapon Permits
  • Employers
  • Voter Registrations
  • Utility Records
  • Relatives and Associates
  • AND MUCH MORE!

Give it a try on your next investigation! And as always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions, need assistance or have feedback. We’re here to help.
